2010 KINGDOMTIDE

Kingdomtide represents the harvest, and the color for the season is green with a dash of gold. I had the idea of the communion of saints being a part of what this season represents, as we share a legacy and spiritual identity with our foremothers who have gone before us. This cloud of witnesses- We take these things (our gifts, our history, our whole selves) and go after them, into the field, (the plot He has specifically assigned to us) to feed His people, deliver the good news with compassion and charity... So I emphasized in their construction the simplicity and joy of that union, and the spiritual promise that accompanies us- both of what has been written and spoken and passed down... What we belong to cannot be undone. It will remain unbroken forever. This is particularly why the necklaces are identical to each other.

The materials are silver plated pendant, paper adhered with dimensional lacquer to glass, coated copper wire (plated and named gun metal and silver/ or bronze), and mysterious green beads. The image is "All Saints of Trier-Treves" and the text is the Pater Noster with Isaiah 11:1-2. (I like the full chapter as a meditation on God's promise fulfilled, and Lauralee suggested the Lords Prayer, as it is how Jesus said we should pray. And the Good News is who Jesus is and all that has come to pass, so what better way to honor it than to have those holy words close to your chest and guarding your heart, and the picture of the saints all shouldering together below the truth of the cross and Christ risen- the people redeemed.)
